Ahhhhhh, finally a good saddle, March 9, 2010 By Allan (Bay Area, CA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Selle Italia SLK Gel Flow Men's Bicycle Saddle (Vanox Rails, Black) (Sports) I previously had the old (non-GelFlow) SLK saddle, and I loved it. It was one of the only saddles I've owned that I could ride all day without experiencing any discomfort. I initially replaced my old SLK with the very lightweight SLR, but it's not a split saddle design, and was very uncomfortable for me.
I bought this one and it's been night and day. This saddle is as comfortable, if not more so, than my old SLK. I actually had to replace the old one because after so many miles of riding, the leather had started to wear off the sides of the saddle, which in turn started shredding my shorts.
This saddle is not the lightest saddle, about 100g heavier than the SLR. For the money, I would have liked to get a bit lighter weight. Also, I'm not sure I like the stitching on the outside of the saddle. It appears the "gel" pocket is stitched in place with stitches around the perimeter of the saddle. What can I say. Weigh in at 195. With a height of 6'2. This seat fits me well. I use it for my road bike to go on long 50 mile rides. My bum is still good afterwards. It works for. Worth the price I paid $119.
